🐾 24/7 Emergency Veterinary Directory — Find urgent care for your pet

About Us

About PawRescue

PawRescue is an independent 24/7 emergency veterinary directory covering the United States. We organize animal hospital information, emergency services, specialist availability, and contact details into clear, comparable pages so pet owners can find urgent care without wasting precious time.

Why we built this

When your dog swallowed something dangerous at 2am, or your cat was hit by a car on a holiday — the last thing you should be doing is scrolling through generic search results trying to figure out which animal hospital is actually open, actually staffed, and actually equipped to help right now.

We started PawRescue because pet emergencies are terrifying, disorienting moments. We wanted to build a single place where owners could instantly find verified emergency vets, see their specialties and ratings, and call directly. No middlemen, no lead forms, no confusion.

The goal is simple: connect panicked pet owners to real, local emergency veterinary care as fast as possible.

Behind the name

PawRescue puts two things together that matter most in a pet emergency. The paw is universal shorthand for pets — dogs, cats, and every beloved animal in between. Rescue is the action: immediate, compassionate, urgent help.

Together, they say exactly what this directory is for: rescuing pets through their owners — by getting you to the right veterinary care before another minute passes.

What we do

We maintain a directory of 848 emergency and specialty veterinary hospitals across 51 US states. Each listing includes:

  • 24/7 availability indicators for genuine round-the-clock emergency care
  • Direct phone numbers for immediate contact
  • Customer ratings and review summaries from verified sources
  • Specialty services: surgery, ICU, toxicology, oncology, and more
  • Official website links and Google Maps directions
  • Photos of the facility from verified sources

Alongside the directory, our editorial team publishes pet health guides, emergency preparedness articles, and expert veterinary advice through the Journal section.

Our editorial approach

Every hospital page on this site is built from verified data. We cross-reference business listings, check operating hours, and confirm contact details before publishing. When information changes, we update the listing.

Our journal articles are written with the pet owner in mind during real emergencies. Instead of generic advice, we focus on practical guidance: what to do if your pet ingests something toxic, how to assess if an injury requires emergency care, and how to stabilize your pet on the way to the hospital.

We do not accept payment for placement in our directory or editorial content. Hospital listings are included based on data availability and patient ratings, not advertising relationships.

Get in touch

We welcome messages from pet owners, veterinary professionals, and media contacts. Whether you have a question about a listing, want to suggest a correction, or are interested in an editorial collaboration, reach out through our contact page.
